I think it’s interesting how society views nurses.
(I say this as a nursing student, btw.)
On the one hand, it’s overly positive. Nurses are angels, nurses can do no wrong, nurses are so trustworthy, and that’s not always true. It’s a really idealized version of what nurses really are.
Then you have the other hand, the trivialization of what we do. Television shows like Grey’s Anatomy show doctors doing what nurses usually do. Making it seem like all we do is paperwork and scut work.
Sometimes, it feels like the only people who understand nurses… are nurses.
